UK’s most talented, energetic, and charismatic live performer, with his sensational 7-piece band. Often compared to Fats Domino, Little Richard, or Jerry Lee Lewis, Mike is a consummate rock’ n roller, who takes no prisoners! He previously fronted Bill Wyman’s Rhythm Kings, and The Big Town Playboys, but with his own band he’s even better!

Sarah Jane Morris is a simply sensational vocalist, blessed with a rich, deep voice and incredible range.  Her very original and sensual style straddles rock, blues, soul and jazz. Her self description `Janice Joplin meets Nina Simone’ aptly summarizes the eclectic range of her influences.

Famed in UK principally for her mid 80’s No.1 hit with the Communards `Don’t leave me this way’, she’s since become an international star, with several top 10 hits in Europe and Japan, and winner of a European Grammy award.

Her latest album `After all these years’, a 34 track double CD celebrating her 25 year career, has also entered the European album charts.  Her superb band comprises top musicians that usually play for such major stars as Sting, David Bowie, Annie Lennox, Paul Weller, Simply Red, etc. Definitely not to be missed!

Multi award winning, multi talented, Dana Gillespie is truly an international star. After more than 40 years in music, and with over 50 albums to her credit, Dana is a diva well qualified to sing the blues. In addition to her dedication to singing raunchy blues inspired by Bessie Smith, her fascinating career has embraced starring roles on the West End stage, in many major movies, and in many popular TV series. She’s also presented regular radio programmes in both Austria and USA, and in her youth she was even a British water-skiing champion!

Dana tours regularly throughout the world, and is a major star in India, where she has performed to probably the world’s biggest live audience of over 1 million. She also recently toured with her old flame from the 60’s, Bob Dylan.

Her superb band includes Dino Baptiste on keys, Mike Paice on sax, and Jake Zaitz on guitar. Their dynamic and entertaining set will have you bopping with a grin!

`Humdinger' 10th Anniversary Reunion Gig
with support band Joanne Shaw Taylor

Celebrating the 10th anniversary of their highly acclaimed 3rd album `Humdinger’, The HOAX are briefly re-forming to appear at two overseas blues festivals, and only one exclusive UK date at Chiddingfold!

The HOAX rapidly evolved from a Wiltshire village band of school-friends, to become undoubtedly the best, most original, and most exciting blues band of the 90’s, with a huge following of fans throughout Europe. In 1995 they were awarded both `Blues Band of the Year’ and `Blues Album’ of the year, and they also embarked on an extensive tour of the USA, opening for Buddy Guy. They were also guests on the TV show `Later with Jools Holland’. With the blues world at their feet, in 1999 the band confounded all their world-wide fans by disbanding, in favour of pursuing individual careers.

The band members are now dispersed around the world, and hence further `re-unions’ are most unlikely. Existing fans will flock to this very special one-off gig, but if you haven’t seen them before, come and appreciate the impact made by this sensational band!

The last time Englishmen played blue-rock with such fire and conviction, they had names like The Yardbirds, John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, and The Rolling Stones” - `Q’ Magazine ****

This brief tour will be accompanied by a re-issue of the Humdinger album, with previously un-released additional tracks, plus a `live'  DVD.

This very special gig will also most probably be the very last gig at Chiddingfold Club, which sadly is destined to be demolished for redevelopment.

Sherman Robertson is, simply, one of the finest blues/soul performers in the world today. Although his soulful vocals are sometimes compared to Robert Cray, his stinging guitar, and impassioned live performance are a class apart.
Born in Louisiana, raised in Texas, Sherman cut his teeth with some of very best blues & zydeco bands, including Bobby Bland, Clifton Chenier, Terrence Simeon, Johnny Copeland etc.
Sherman’s talent was recognised by Paul Simon, who hired him to play on his immortal `Gracelands’ album, and by blues impresario Mike Vernon, who signed him to Atlantic Records. He is now an international star, who headlines at major blues festivals around the world.

'Always a compelling live performer, Robertson’s new album offers a glimpse of what the soulful singer with stinging guitar licks can deliver on stage’ – The Independent (review of CD 'Guitar Man - Live’)

'Sherman plays Texas blues soaked in zydeco and R&B, all performed with the fire and intensity of a true rocker’ – Guitar Magazine

'Robertson is an amazing guitarist, and a man with a passionate and meaningful blues voice. Superb!Classic Rock Society

'Guitar Man – Live’ is very, very good indeed’Paul Jones (Blues Band, Manfreds, BBC Radio 2)
