Chosen by Paul Jones to provide the core band at last year’s Christmas charity gig (playing with Eric Clapton, Eric Bibb, etc), Guy Tortora made a huge impact, and won many new fans. Originally from Pasadena, USA, Guy now lives in UK, and is now well established on the European blues circuit. His highly acclaimed latest album `Living on Credit’ is an eclectic mix of great original songs, with perceptive lyrics, soulful vocals, and excellent musicianship. Already a firm favourite at Cranleigh with his brother Stevie (The Nimmo Brothers), Alan Nimmo now has his own very excellent band 'King King', which has been getting rave review wherever they play. Soulful vocals, scorching guitar, terrific band, King-King has all the merits of the Nimmo Brothers. Their 1st album will be released early 2010. (Note -The Nimmo Brothers appear at CAC on 13 Nov) |

THE HOAX evolved rapidly from a band of school-friends from the same Wiltshire village, to become undoubtedly the best, most original, and most exciting blues band of the 90’s, with a huge following of fans throughout Europe and USA. In 1995 they were awarded both `Blues Band of the Year’ and `Blues Album’ of the year, and also embarked on an extensive US tour, opening for Buddy Guy. They were also guests on the TV show `Later with Jools Holland’. With the blues world at their feet, in 1999 the band confounded their world-wide fans by disbanding, in favour of pursuing individual careers. With band members now dispersed around the world, re-unions are rare. Existing fans will flock to this very special gig, but if you haven’t seen them before, come and appreciate the impact made by this sensational band! |
